Hello and Welcome!

 

My name is Monalisa, the co-founder & owner of Thinc Products. With years of experience in both Early Childhood and Primary Education I understand the level stress readiness a child requires when transitioning to school.

Established in 2016, Thinc Products decided to explore the challenges of teaching & lecturing on a day-to-day basis. We found that in focusing on students, the educators were neglecting their health, jeopardizing a long fruitful career. Our modus operandi is to research and develop products & resources which will benefit educators globally.

I have a bachelor degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education, and now run school readiness lessons that include the skills and knowledge children require for a successful transition from preschool to kindergarten.

 

‘School readiness’ is a measure of the knowledge, skills and behaviours that enable children to participate and succeed in school. It is about the development of the whole child – their social and emotional skills, physical skills, communication skills and cognitive skills.

 

Children cannot thrive at school if they haven’t developed the skills to manage things like getting along with other children, turn taking, fair play, following instructions and communicating their needs.

 

As an educator of young children it is worrying to witness students enter the next chapter of their life without acquiring the skills that are needed to allow success in their first year of school. As a result, children of today are facing increased behaviour problems, social isolation and academic hardship.

 

In order to have a happy and successful start to school, children also need to have a firm grasp of language, numeracy, fine motor skills, social and emotional skills and now more then ever skills needed for academic success in primary school.

 

My school readiness lessons focus on the above skills and will enabling your child to be treated as an individual, to feel valued, and above all, to reach their full potential. Every child is different and unique and it is at this young age that excellent foundations can be laid, and a sense of aspiration created.

 

The school readiness sessions offer a wide and varied curriculum allowing your child to be engaged and excited about learning but above all have fun while learning.

 

Research shows that children who start school when developmentally ready to learn tend to do better in school – and it sets them up for further success later in life.
